Purpose

·        To reconcile diocesan requests for funding, based on a set formula, and the reality of income levels.

Scope

·        This policy applies to all members of St. James the Less Church

Policy Statement

·        The amount of the request we will honour in the upcoming year will be determined by voting on a proposed percentage (i.e. 0-110%) of the requested amount.

·        The Church wardens will propose the percentage citing their reasons.

·        If we can’t obtain a vote of a minimum two-thirds majority at a meeting of the congregation, we will revert to the default arrangement, which is to pay 100% if the funds are available and foreseen in future cash flow.

·        To manage cash flow, we will send a proportionate amount (according to our monthly actual income) 

·        At the end of the year, we will first pay our deficit from the previous year, and send to synod any surplus up to the requested amount.
