Policy Statement

At St. James the Less, we believe that it is important to invest in those who have been appointed to leadership roles and positions of authority.  By investing in our leaders, we are ultimately investing in the development of all members of St. James the Less.  Accordingly, some resources will be established in the annual planning and budgeting process to offset or pay for continuing education.

Applying for Continuing Education Funding

Staff, Department Heads and Leaders

Annually, through the planning and budgeting process, the Rector will request resources for continuing education in strategic areas of ministry.   The disbursement of funds is based on the Rector’s discretion.  Paid staff, department heads and leaders are encouraged to apply for funding to support their continuing education needs.  All decisions for funding will be based on the following:

·        Budget

·        Availability of Courses etc.

·        Strategic Direction

·        Program Priorities

·        Individual Education Profiles

Rector

According to Diocesan policy, the Rector can apply to the Diocese for up to $600/ year for continuing education. ref: Diocesan Guidelines A-14  Recognizing that the Diocesan policy may limit appropriate education, the Rector may submit a plan for additional continuing education funding for consideration in the annual planning budgeting process.
